- Jim,
-
- Thank you for your feedback to my question. It gives me some hopes in
- the sense that my modem could be OK.
- It still doesn't solve my problem though.
-
- I downloaded some documentation from Rockwell and it says that there is an
- AT command -SDR that is used to activate the Distinctive Ring feature.
- I tried to include -SDR=7 in the Command String of Advanced Receive Setup.
- It didn't help.
- Did you use this command for your modem in addition to all the other settings
- from BitWare?
-
- I think that, if my modem is OK, the only reason for this problem could be the
- ring cadence provided by my phone company for different rings ( it would be unusual
- though, to have in Canada different standards from the US). I tried to find out
- from them, what is the duration for different rings, to see if they match the
- patterns recognized by Rockwell chip, but these squareheads are totally ignorant
- about this kind of details.
-
- I don't want to give it up yet. I spent a lot of money on this modem (including
- the phone calls to different Technical Support services) and besides, it seems that,
- except that Dist. Ring problem, it works fine.
-
- I would greatly appreciate any other comments or suggestions on this subject.
-
- Best Regards
-
- A.V.
